The Silagen Silicone Abdomen/Extremity Strip is a clear, self-adhesive silicone strip designed for longer scars. Each package contains one 2-inch by 24-inch strip suitable for healed incisions following procedures such as tummy tucks, body lifts and arm lifts. The strip may also be cut into smaller pieces for shorter scars.
Begin using Silagen only after the incision has completely healed or sutures have been removed. Apply the adhesive side directly to clean, dry skin that is free from creams, lotions, ointments and perfumes.
Silagen recommends wearing the strip for 10 to 16 hours daily. Remove it at least once every 12 hours to inspect, clean and dry the area. Wash the strip every two to three days using mild hand soap and water, then allow it to air-dry before reapplying. With gentle handling, each strip may last three to four weeks. Follow your DPSAZ provider’s recommendations for use.
